Wallpaper Gallery: Rose Flower Wallpaper -1

“I read in a book once that a rose by any other name would smell as sweet, but I've never been able to believe it. I don't believe a rose WOULD be as nice if it was called a thistle or a skunk cabbage.”
-Anne Shirley

Isn't that just the nicest quote? I agree with Anne; if a rose was called a thorn-bush or even a weed, I just don't think it would smell as nice as if it were called a rose. Anne Shirley (she's the main character in L.M. Montgomery's Anne of Green Gables, if you don't know) has some very philosophical quotes; you should look some up. This quote is one of my favorites.

By the way, I did not take the picture of a rose above. I'm not near as good a photographer as the person who took this photo; I don't know who it was because I found it on Google. I love Google.

As far as I can tell, nobody has done my challenge for writing. This will be my last week of the experiment; then, if nobody does it, I'll call it off. For now. This week's prompt will be in a separate post. I'll post my own story to go with last week's prompt.

Yesterday I went to the library and got a bunch of books. My library bag probably would have split at the seams if I added any more books to it, which stinks because I had really wanted to check out these two books that I've been wanting to read forever but haven't had the chance. Next time I'll make it first priority to get them. I don't know why, but I've always loved the feel of libraries. They feel so quiet and safe, except for that one time the alarm at the doorway of the library went off when I walked through it. I didn't know why at the time, but know I do. Apparently the front desk ladies don't like it when little children try to run through to the lobby with the books.

There's only one thing I don't like about our library: the wicked monster, who haunts the shelves and unexpectedly appears while you are browsing the library, if only to glare at you from under its wire-rimmed glasses. The one thing at the library I'm afraid of: our librarian. Seriously, though! She just walks around the library, threatening to kick mothers with wailing children out of the library. And one time, I was browsing through the nonfiction section for some light-reading books on ancient China and started pulling some of the history books that looked interesting off of the shelves. Well, here comes the librarian, and she said to me like she was angry, "Um, excuse me, I just organized those books." Well, if she didn't want anybody reading them, then why were they in a library? Even though I was, like, seven, I still haven't forgiven her for basically telling me not to read.

Perhaps you're getting tired of my ranting on so about the librarian? I'm sorry. As I've said before, I tend to ramble.

That's all for now; if I have any more stories about the librarian I'll tell you. Just kidding. I won't make you suffer.

  2. Me too; Anne Shirley makes me laugh. I especially liked it when she dyed her hair green.
