Like all Saturdays when I don't have a soccer game, I was bored out of my mind today, so I looked up how to make origami boxes. Well, that turned into this--and I love it! You can make one too. They look great anywhere, and you can decorate them with pictures, writing samples, or anything else. In my example, I used some of my old sheet music.
What you need:
-A square sheet of paper
-Glue (Modge Podge would probably work best, but unfortunately, we don't have this at my house, so I haven't tested it yet.)
-Scissors
-Decoration
To make the box:
Here is the link to the website I used. It was very helpful, and you can easily follow the instructions.
To decorate the box:
1. Begin cutting out strips of what you want to decorate with. This time, I'm using an excerpt from Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets.
2. Glue the strips to the box. You can do it however you want--for the sheet music one, I just pasted random measures to the outside and inside of the box.
3. Let the glue dry, then glue down any loose strips. If you are using Modge Podge, lightly brush a little glue over the decoration so it will last longer.
You have finished your decorative paper box! If you like it, or if you tried Modge Podge and it works, please tell me!
Thanks, Lydia
