Rain clouds.
Do you know what comes from rain clouds?
RAIN!!!!!!
The drought is over! Maybe! We don't know how long it's going to rain. I'm just happy, because this is the first natural water I've seen in months. I feel like making a song to the music of 'Ding, Dong, the Witch is Dead', you know, from the Wizard of Oz, except it would be like 'Ding, Dong, the Drought is Gone' or something. Maybe I'll do that when I'm done...
I also have some less happy news. One, while we're on the subject of the drought, the wildfires in Gatlinburg, Tennessee, have gotten really bad. Last night, hundreds of people were evacuated from their homes and are waiting for the fires to abate. Pray that they get some rain too, okay?
Also, there was a plane crash in the mountains of Columbia last night that killed all but six passengers, including most of the members of a Brazilian soccer team. I'm a soccer player, so I find this very tragic. They were on their way to a match in Columbia. So sad!
If we could please have a moment's silence for those who were lost or are in danger...
Thank you!
Now, on to some more happy news...(although, I'm slightly sad too...)
NANOWRIMO ENDED TODAY!!!
Okay, yes, I know NaNo is the joy of our lives for us writers. But I had to get up at 5:30 every morning to get my words in, and public school, soccer, and after school band do not work well with waking up that early. I will be spending all of December sleeping in till seven.
And now, for my grand word total...
28,274 words!
Yeah, I'm a little disappointed too. I plan on continuing writing my novel. After a month of catching up on sleep and the rest of my life.
What were your word counts for NaNo?
Smiles,
Lydia
